Problem Statement:
How might we create a frictionless and transparent expense-sharing experience that allows users to effortlessly split, track, and settle shared bills?
Solution
A bill-splitting app with clear records, automated reminders, and seamless payments will eliminate financial friction and improve relationships within groups.
User Research & Insights
User Surveys: Sent out a form to people who frequently split bills.
User Interviews – Talked to 5 participants about their experiences.
Key Findings
- 75% of users say they often forget to request or send payments.
- 60% of respondents feel uncomfortable reminding friends to pay.
- People use multiple tools (WhatsApp, spreadsheets, notes) to track expenses, leading to confusion.
- Most users prefer mobile apps over spreadsheets or manual tracking.
- Trust issues arise when payments are not tracked transparently.
